Dr. Riyanka Das

Assistant Professor

Dr Riyanka Das has received her Doctoral Degree in Chemical Sciences from CSIR-CMERI & AcSIR, India in 2023 as a DST-INSPIRE Fellow. She subsequently joined Hiroshima University, Japan as a WPI-SKCM2 Post-Doctoral Researcher in 2024, where she received the Hiroshima University Encouraging Female Researcher Award. Following her postdoctoral research, she joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, as a Visiting Scientist in 2026, supported by the prestigious International Excellence Fellowship. During her research career, she has also been selected for the Water-Sensing Research Associate (KTP Associate) position at City St George’s, University of London, UK, and the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) Aspirant Grant at KIT, Germany. She has authored 31 SCI-indexed international journal publications, 3 book chapters, and 1 patent. Her research interests lie at the interface of supramolecular chemistry, chemosensing, and functional materials, with a particular focus on hydrogel-based functional materials, resorcinarene-based macrocyclic host systems for rotaxane formation, and small-molecule chemosensors developed through C–N bond-forming strategies for environmental and emerging sensing applications.
